Wireless VCI Communication

The J2534 ECU programming device supports BT and USB communications. It can transmit vehicle data to the MaxiSys MS908CV Display Tablet with or without a physical connection. The working range of the transmitter through BT communication is 210 feet (about 70 m). A signal lost due to the Display Tablet unit moving out of range automatically restores itself when the Display Tablet unit is brought closer to the VCI unit.

ECU Coding:

The ECU coding for the heavy machinery is always a nightmare, but the time has changed. Active Test/ Bi-Directional Control

• The MS908CV can access to vehicle-specific subsystem and have component tests after repairing or replacement, you can quickly identify the if the repair job works or not.

• The tester outputs commands to the ECUs to drive the actuators. You can find the integrity of the system or parts by reading the engine ECU data, or by monitoring the operation of the actuators, such as switching a solenoid, relay, or switch, between two operating states.

• Available tests vary by manufacturer, year, and model, and only the available tests display in the menu.

Mutual Communication with On-Board Systems

To help you track down the problems hidden underneath the hood, Autel scanner MaxiSys CV can build a bridge for you to mutual communicate with on-board systems through the function-Active Test. It can greatly help you to identify whether the source of the problem is the signal transceiver, control modules, or electronic parts.

Auto VIN & Auto Scan Technology

• The MaxiSys MS908CV Diagnostics system features the latest VIN-based Auto VIN Scan function to identify CAN vehicles in just one touch, which allows the technician to quickly detect vehicles, scan all the diagnosable ECUs on every vehicle and run diagnostics on the selected system.

• The Auto Scan function performs a comprehensive scanning over the test vehicle’s ECUs in order to locate fault systems and retrieve DTCs.

• Auto scan and Auto VIN can be very effective when you are doing the regular maintenance, just one click, then you can have whole vehicle checked.

NOTE: Auto VIN function does NOT work on all vehicles.

Control Unit:

This option allows you to manually locate a required control unit for test through a series of choices. You simply follow the menu driven procedure, and make your desired selection each time; after that, the program will guide you to the diagnostic Function Menu.

• ECU Information – provides the retrieved ECU information in details. A selection opens an information screen.

• Trouble Codes – contains Read Codes and Erase Codes. The former
displays detailed information of DTCs retrieved from the vehicle control module; the latter facilitates you to erase DTCs and other data from ECM.

• Live Data – retrieves and displays live data and parameters from the
vehicle’s ECU.

• Active Test – provides specific subsystem and component tests. The test options may include A/C Relay, Malfunction Indicator Lamp, Idle Spark and many others, and vary depending on the vehicle makes and models.

• Special Functions – provide component adaptation for custom
configurations, and also allows you to learn adaptive values for certain components after repairs. Depending on the test vehicle, this selection may sometimes appear as Fuel Trim Reset, Oil Life Reset, Throttle Position or something similar.
